He opposes conflict with Russian because he sees Russia as a US ally against China. He's wrong. Russia is incapable of any kind of alliance.

Hitler got away with Czechoslovakia, that empowered him to want more. The aid given to Ukraine by the west is peanuts compared to national expenditures - most of the US aid is spent in the US. It needs to be far more. No boots on the ground are needed and Ukraine has never suggested they are. Zelensky is the Churchill of today. Slava Ukraini.

Putin's 'Ruski Mir' just believes the largest country in the world is, ipso facto, also the greatest with the greatest culture and greatest people. This means all other countries are just satellites subservient to an all powerful Moscow. He and his ilk really believe this. The Ukrainians are doing the work the west ought to be doing, proving that Ruski Mir is BS. If they lose it will be the start of something far worse, and now is the time to stop it in its tracks.
