  5. People say that, but British culture has been increasing liberal since the 17thC - there are lots of liberal things we agree on. Would you approve of children of 12 to go to work, or dog fighting, or flogging, for instance? What we have now is not true liberalism, you can only have that when the demographics support a single culture. Today we have 'liberalism' towards the illiberal, and licentiousness. People use 'liberal' as a pejorative when they mean 'leftist'. It's an American usage from when the word 'socialist' was too terrible to use in public.

  24. They assume their offspring will follow their beliefs, and not join the avalanche of apostasy. It's not just a battle of demographics but of ideas. Our country began down this path while we were still a massive majority, but those in power didn't represent us, they favoured the outsider. It is only in recent years we have begun to resist. Richard here seems to be throwing in the towel.
