  1. Doctor Johnson was not denigrating patriotism, he was using it as an admirable value that is used by the unscrupulous to further selfish ends. The term 'racist' is used as if it has a high moral purpose, but is just an anti-white slur. It is not used in good faith to stop all forms of prejudice but to denigrate white people. Today 'equality' is the last refuge of the scoundrel.
