  3.  @andrewjacob1611  Popular music was really a 20thC phenomenon - growing up in the 60s and 70s every week a new piece of music was introduced to you that you would remember for life; not just bands but crooners, comedy songs, theme tunes and musicals. That era declined from the mid 80s onwards - till by the end of the 90s there was nothing. Even that industrial consumer of CDs, Elton John, recently said the art of songwriting has died. There are still 'hits', but only because each generation needs 'their' music however poor it might be. But I always used to say every band has at least one good song in them. I hope you can catch the muse.
