  3.  @aidan883  Indeed, but my point is that today many politicians openly boast of being socialists, while everyone denies being a fascist. Tom's usage here reinforces this paradox.

  4.  @aidan883  My point would be that 'fascist' is a distraction from the word 'socialist' - which has supposed to have benign connotations. Also fascism didn't contain the same racial component that Nazism had.
