24:13 "I think 'populist' is a term that some people use for things they don't like" spot on Douglas Murray.
26
12:05 "a huge amount of damage has been done historically, and is still being done today, by optimists" great comment from Douglas Murray.
22
It'll never happen
21
41:18 "Islamic extremism...is an imported problem for Europe" brought in by politicians.

He was talking about Ancient Greece, like Ancient Egypt and Ancient Rome, a nation that no longer exists.
7
Were you born in Greece and live in Greece? Or are you abroad too?
3
@greentoby26 Do you find it infuriating that Britain liberated Spain and Portugal from France in the Peninsular War?
3
He's a leftist he probably would.
2
@randomstuff1315 Their inheritors exist but the Ancient Greeks do not. Analogous to the Romans and the Italians. They were one people, a nation.
2
Cry me a river.
2
David Aaronovitch, people from Ireland in the !9th C were not immigrants to this country but immigrants within this country. No different than Scots or Welsh coming to England. Do not use them as an excuse to cram in more Pakistanis and Somalis who are from another continent let alone country. There can never be enough for the likes of Aaronvitch: "my grandfather blah blah.." just be grateful we let him in - the door is closing now and it ill behooves you to want to keep it propped open. For Britain
2
The motion was quite rightly defeated.
2
They belong to the British Museum. Forever.
1
Jewish too,
1
@ParcelOfRogue I stand on the stone of truth not hiding under the rock of lies like a leftist.
1
@Neater_profile To everyone who doesn't understand this means "you are totally correct"
1
@msanna9365 No the modern state of Italy is not Ancient Rome - did you think that it was?
1
The British have excavated more sites and translated more documents and inscriptions than anybody - you wouldn't know who anyone was before George Washington without them.
1
Wrong.
1
Absolutely no one - with a working brain cell - says that.
1
America feared France and Britain would cede colonies to Germany - a German Canada was in their minds.
1
They stay. Stop virtue signalling. They wouldn't exist now if the hadn't been removed - not for profit but for the for the benefit of all mankind.
1
There was no German state to take it from.
1
Fantasy. Germans wanted to emulate Napoleon, they didn't have to continue the war after the stalemate on the Western Front and were so hungry for it they started it up again in 1939.
1
France and Belgium
1
In what part of Insanity Land are they putting that about?
1
Britain is a war loving country? Keep taking the tablets.
1
@@pm3302 They were nowhere near the front lines
1
That wins the stupidest comment ever.
1
Hitler and Nazi Germany would have never happened if the German Empire had been dismembered after WWI
1
Jihad isn't a struggle against injustice, it is struggle against disbelief in Islam.
1
The title is the motion - it was defeated.
1
Yes

Ferguson criticises Brexit so he can still be invited on the BBC. He compares the 2014 Scottish referendum with it when they are apples and oranges. UKIP wasn't going to be given the reins of government the way the SNP would have acquired them in Scotland, so it didn't need to have an economic plan. Even these university types can talk through their hats when trying to justify their error of judgement, and do wild mental gymnastics in the process. He's wrong. He's also wrong about Trump; he will win in November - nobody gives a fig about the 'convictions' because they are fake.
1
Which country?
1
@omnipitous4648 - as all Jews do.
1
'Socialism is fellowship', says Will Hutton. Only among the managerial class who dictate to us. It's time for Reform.
1
British officers recommended the award

No one even commented on why Germany continued to pursue the war after its attack through Belgium was stifled. If it didn't want a major war with Britain it could have stopped at any time. The fact is it was a militaristic nation and no one could have conceived that it had such an enormous appetite for war.
1
The Tories never undo anything.
1
The US were terrified of that happening in case Britain gave Canada to the Germans.
1
Invasion would have been unnecessary had the coasts of France and Belgium been occupied - NLs would have been occupied next. At this time Germany had a far bigger Navy than Hitler had later, and the threat to British maritime lifelines would have been even greater.
1
Left?
1
Bad thing?
1
@brianjacob8728 So Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and India are bad things too then. Not to mention the United States. All products of the British Empire.
1
Thank you for learning our language so you can make your incredibly valuable contribution.
1
The Empire was costly to maintain - the dominions of Canada, Australia and NZ didn't actually collapse. The war was to preserve Britain itself, not the Empire - German control of the North Sea and the coasts of Belgium and France could not be tolerated.
1
It didn't
1
@sonjak8265 By resisting German aggression? Is that your answer?
1
yeah if there had ony been no Germany
