While Trump might be a massive egoist (anybody in politics who isn't?) he has never harmed anyone, and rather than being 'all about Trump', he selflessly stepped into politics when he saw his country being destroyed, giving up his business affairs, a television career, and the presidential salary. Jonathan seemed disappointed that the British were not high on this list, not because he thought they ought to be, but because he wanted to feel shame, some self-reproach and guilt. This is the woke antiwhite, culturally destructive, attitude that pervades the political and media elites of the West today, and will create a problem for military recruitment in its defence in the future. His attitude about cultural supremacy doesn't even have internal logical consistency: if Ukraine didn't believe it was a superior culture to Russia it wouldn't be fighting against it. This war has been a wake up for liberals like Jonathan, and he admits here that his antipathy towards nationalism has shifted since it started. Ukraine are defending the their culture with everything they've got, it's time the UK and US started doing likewise instead of pulling theirs apart and trashing them for the sake of 'diversity' and 'anti-racism'.

Labour are not centrist (Starmer's a self proclaimed socialist), and the Conservatives did not lose because they went to the right, but because they didn't, they went woke globalist and betrayed their promises. Reform are actually the true centre ground. Political correctness is extremism, state multiculturalism is extremism, open borders is extremism, not deporting illegals is extremism, climate alarmism and Net Zero is extremism, LGBT is extremism, speech codes and cancelling is extremism, lockdowns and vaccine mandates are extremism. The corporate media led by the BBC have narrowed the Overton window so far that common sense and objecting to the managerial state are now 'far-right'. Trump and Farage supporters understand this and are intent on resetting the system. 80% of the electorate did not vote for this Labour landslide and Labour have fewer votes than last time. Labour didn't so much win as the Conservatives lost.

  46. The globalism opposers, in many cases, believe that the Ukraine war has been caused by NATO to further globalism, and so, from that twisted premise, Russia is the good guy. Even Nigel Farage was talking about 'poking the Russian bear' after the invasion. Alex Jones is frustrating as he is sound on some things, bonkers on others. The term 'conspiracy theorist' was propagated by the CIA after the JFK assassination to slur anyone who questioned the Warren Commission, something a committee of Congress did in 1979 before it was shut down. To believe Jones is wrong about Sandy Hook simply because a US court says so in 2023 is foolhardy in the extreme - the US administration of justice is now an international laughing stock, and any investigations, verdicts and sentences that emanate from there are no longer fit for purpose.

I think there was a belief for years that RT and Al Jazeera were good alternatives to the MSM, and as the MSM lied more and more about things like Trump, Covid, Climate and Trans it meant they could not be relied upon for anything. Carlson here represents that belief to the point of absurdity. He just cannot believe that any moral position held by the MSM is actually correct, and operating from that assumption leads to the ridiculous personal insults he directed at Zelenskyy and assumptions that 'everybody knows' who blew up the pipeline and hence the dam.
