karun sagar Religious morality is not objective in any way. Worst it is difficult to define an objective morality from the bible from page 1 to the last page. The reality is that every religious christian trend has is own interpretation of wich values to choose in the bible. Between the more radical christians called fundamentalists, integrists, etc.... and the most tolerant, spiritual and humanist version of the christianism there is a gap. But all will say the bible or jesus says "that".

Many texts in the firsts parts of the bible are inspired by older mythic texts, some are just rewritten in a monotheist way. Then yes we can study some of the texts of the bible like mythic texts. But .... nobody give the key for a mythic analysis. If you look at adam & eve, the eden garden (copy of a sumerian mythic garden), there are many interpretations from mythic point of view, but i don't know if someone has the authority for teaching the mythic layer of the story. The original sin, is not a mythic reading of the story. The funny side for an atheist if we take this for true, is that god just became another mythic character, like the polytheists god of the greek or sumerians.
