police state = right wing
strong authoritarian leader = right wing
oligarchy = right wing
right wing = power of one (monarchy, dictatorship, totalitarism) , or some (oligarchy, aristocracy, etc... ) and social hierarchy
left wing = collective power without strong leader, no social hierarchy ( or at least reducing ).
Thisi the basic of the Left-Right antagonism since the French Revolution.
staline and mao were Right Wing Authoritarianist , folllowing politic psychologists.
Their regimes were about power of one strong leader, a socail hierarchy with an elite and the workers under, etc... then they fit the definition of right wing.
Authoritarianism is strongly linked to conservatism, nationalists, reactionnaries, etc... it is why psychologist label it Right Wing Authoritariansm.
Ideologies are linked to a specific psychology.
And the psychology linked to stalinism, maoism, etc.. are very different from the psychology driving the historics socialism we can see in the video.

lol if a system don't follow the definition of socialism, its failures are not failures of socialism.
A young child can understand that.
and from socialist thinkers socialism is : "democratic politic and economic power", or "the freedom, the equality, fraternity together without dropping one term.
Given that the regim you are thinking don't realize any of the topic, they are not socialists, and then their failure are not the failures of the socialism.
On the other hand socialism, by its different trends , in democratic countries has bring progress, and made the life better, gave more personal freedom, etc....
