  1. Brandon Wills Dinosaurs were very adapted to their niche, their role, etc.... You don't need a big brain when you are a T Rex and all your body just fit your apex predator role, just being smart for being a good hunter, like all predators. On an other hand, ancestors of the humans were not really specialised, didn't had natural weapon, protection, etc... The intelligence, the capacity to find new solutions and learn , helping to adapt, was a big plus. And in evolution , you have in addition a part of chance, the human line had the chance to get some mutations helping to raise intelligence.

  2. My personals 2 cents : Eggs are weaker than a moving mother who can fight. Pregnancy protect embryo from temperature changes. Babies get immunity from their mother, not with an egg.

  7. Small population with some bad mutations, and inbreeding of females by sapiens males, with a great pool of sapiens. With just 1% of new hybrids each generation, after thousands of years pure neanderthals could have disappeared without any conflict with sapiens. But neanderthal gave to sapiens some genes for being adapted for Europe and Asia.

  12. Now there are wolves making a begin of transition to water in canada, hunting salmons in rivers, like the bears. They have already some little mutations like fur more adapted to water.   13. A fusion has been observed with Pelomixia palustris, an ameboid without mitochondria (anaerobic) in a laboratory . The cells were infected by pathogen bacterias , and there was a great mortality at the start. Until .... bacterias became necessaries to the survive of the ameboid. Changes were made in 18 month, this is 50 generations. Some of the bacterias bring their aerobic capacity like mitochondria. Then we can add another event in the count. If it happens in a laboratory by accident, it can happens elsewhere in the wild.

  16. yes before this "explosions" the number of fossilized species was small, and less diverse, and mono-cellular. With the explosions we have a great diversity of multi-cellular beings.
