Gpt4 is far better. And the reason it writes buggy code is because it’s been trained on code snippets on the internet that are, you’ve guessed it, buggy. Someone is going to take an LLM and fine tune it on best practice optimised code from validated systems, and it’s coding will be far superior. Also, you generally get gpt to debug code for you, including the code it writes.

The matrix was remarkably prescient. So was 1984 and brave new world. We are rapidly heading towards that.

@Anivasion sounds like a good story, and definitely a possible future dystopia

You might want to investigate AI’s role in starting and escalating the Ukraine war. It’s not an independent autonomous AI like skynet, at least not as far as we know, but the results might surprise you. And it’s only going to get worse.

Do you know about all the AI currently being trained on the best ways to kill people in Ukraine? Have you heard about the US’s latest AI Autonomous drone? During testing they cancelled a mission, so it tried to cut communications and when they stopped it doing that it tried to take out its operators, because it’s reward function prioritised carrying out the mission.

Skynet is coming

You need to be more specific with your seed prompt and tell it to be less verbose, dispense with irrelevant information and be more short and sweet.

@joho0 so if I’m correct, it’s ok to use Google in interviews because it’s ok to use Google in jobs. Are you saying it’s not ok to use AI in interviews because it’s not ok to use AI in jobs?

@joho0 where’s the job? What’s the salary? Perhaps you’re not offering enough. Usually in a free market if you can’t get the quality you’re looking for you need to raise the price you’re willing to pay. Maybe I should interview

@joho0 where do I do for a job spec and application requirements? No disrespect, but if you’re struggling to recruit you’re probably not offering enough. Outbox the salary up by 20% and you’ll see a much better class of applicants. You’ve probably already spent 20% or more of the starting salary on recruitment already.

@Alistair it’s definitely been trained on buggy code, that’s a fact. As soon someone trains and find tunes an LLM on kosher code from validated systems you’ll see a sea change, and it’s going to happen sooner than you think
