@Roel_Scoot it’s too late and it doesn’t matter what politicians say they’re going to do, or say they want to do, or actually want to do. Corporations are bigger than any government or political institution and they rule the world and decide what’s going to happen. And there’s absolutely no chance the oil industry is going to allow petrol fuelled cars to be banned any time soon, regardless of the impact and consequences. Apart from that, we don’t have the electrical infrastructure to recharge the number of electric vehicles that will be needed to replace them, and there isn’t enough lithium in the world to make the batteries to power them either. So the only way it’s going to happen is to a) reduce it eliminate the power of oil companies and b) provide alternative means of transport (see Chinas $900 billion high speed rail network) and/or reduce the need to travel, through wfh or other initiatives
