@icestationzebraassociates2460 I’ve lived in Alaska and worked for trident seafoods on huge bottom dragger trawlers like the island enterprise and the bountiful in the Bering sea where the crap breeding grounds are. They leave huge dead zones everywhere they fish, and when we’re in ’em it’s not uncommon to get 80% dead loss rates on a catch. This is why there’s so many crish these days. Adherence to the law is immaterial, corking isn’t illegal but everyone knows it’s wrong, and this is exactly the same. Their operations devastate the sea life and breeding grounds, and I’m saying this as a former roderick used to the Norwegian diet. The sourdoughs I worked with all thought the same. If you knew Phil Harris you’d know this. Don’t be a Poutsaras and be Palin about this.

@Neil Armstrong Alaskan draggers cause the same damage as Chinese ones. The difference is Alaskan draggers fish in the Bering sea. Never seen a Chinese trawler there

@ChiChi-jg1ch we’re not talking about global fishing we’re talking about the crab breeding grounds in the Bering sea. China has a billion and a half people, more billionaires, more millionaires and more middle class than any country in the world, of course they’re going to do a lot of fishing globally. It’s called capitalism, get used to it.
