  1.  @uku4171  just let them keep their rewards then, that’ll certainly help. Punishment serves multiple purposes, including deterrence, retribution, restitution, rehabilitation and protection. It shouldn’t be done in isolation, and the deeper causes should certainly be tackled, but the idea that we shouldn’t punish scammers is laughable. No doubt you’re one of them.

  2.  @uku4171  you’re clearly not very good at reading because I never mentioned revenge. Personally I find revenge cathartically satisfying, and it serves as a deterrent and a warning to others who might think about crossing me. Of course scammers like you would love it if everyone just turned the other cheek and let you keep taking theirs and everyone else’s money. And naturally I assume you are one, why else would you want them to get away with their criminal activity that ruins people’s lives? I caught one once waiting outside my parents house trying to intercept the post to pick up a delivery he’s ordered in their name to their address as part of an identity theft scam he was running on them. Let’s just say he didn’t walk away and won’t ever be coming back, and they’ve not had any scammers like that since. That was a satisfying feeling, and he got what he deserved. You’re going to tell me I should have let him carry on his crime at my parents expense no doubt.

  3.  @uku4171  you keep accusing me of asking for revenge, I’ve never mentioned it. Punishment isn’t revenge, it’s retribution. It’s about paying the cost of your crimes to society, you have to pay the debts you owe. It’s also about protection, reform and deterrence. Revenge is nothing to do with it.
