  4. Anything that fast doesn’t need to be that manoeuvrable, just needs to change direction and speed slightly and it will be enough to dodge any interceptors. It doesn’t need to be that accurate either since it will be carrying a nuke, so anywhere in the general vicinity is fine.

  8.  @D1NKERR  don’t think it got a little long but I disagree with you re: defence spending vs education spending. If the USA had spent as much on education as they have done on defence in the past 3O years they wouldn’t keep electing such dire politicians and presidents. The fact that these politicians enable this defence shedding over education means the arms and oil companies will do everything they can do ensure they keep getting elected, and we all know who decides who we get to pick from as representatives and leaders

Bill Hicks had a good take on defence spending, George Carlin too. Who is really in charge of the US at the moment, because it surely can’t be Biden? He hasn’t got a clue what’s going on half the time.

  10.  @D1NKERR  I can’t see oil companies hastening the demise of the combustion engine myself. Personally I think it’s more likely a way for them to make more money whilst getting round high gas prices. No doubt there will be knock on side effects on engines but I’m not sure that’s the primary goal. In any case, I seriously doubt Biden would have a clue about that, he hasn’t got a clue about much these days. Don’t forget, him and his son have big interests in oil companies. They probably own shares in one of the companies producing this e15

What a shame that the huge fleet with its deep sea operational capacity that has stationed 30 miles away in Denmark got over 6 months that’s been doing manoeuvre with the Scandinavian and Baltic countries right over the pipelines didn’t think to patrol them and make sure there weren’t any pesky Russian subs up to no good right beneath them. Guess their sub detection must really suck, good job the Russians were only after their own pipes and not the us fleet

  24.  @casey6104  hypersonics have two main advantages in a preemptive strike. One, they’re much harder to intercept, and the time window to intercept is much shorter, and two, they’re more likely to deliver their payload before the opposition.
