@Nub93 if Germany had won the Battle of Britain and had air superiority if not air supremacy could it not have bombed the Royal Navy at it’s leisure? It could have certainly bombed the ports destroying the infrastructure the Navy depends on to refuel, rearm and repair

@thehound9638 the U boats did bugger all? Tell that to the tens of thousands who died at sea and the hundreds of thousands who served trying to protect the convoys. Tell that to the British people who lived through rationing during the war and for 8 years after it. It only stopped in 1953 and during that time infant mortality was at record levels and the average height dropped by two inches due to malnutrition. Most of the equipment we used was made in the USA, because we couldn’t ship the raw materials here. You need to learn a bit more history boy.

@frankhyland6333 the British navy currently consists of 17 vessels. Wet don’t even have enough to protect the aircraft carrier we have to share with France. We have two frigates off the south coast to protect Britain right now, the rest of our navy is at sea thousand of miles away. France could invade right now and there’s absolutely nothing we could do about it. We also only have 12 fighter aircraft remaining in the U.K. at this moment. We’ve ain’t stopping anybody right now

The British were managing supply lines across the Atlantic from the America. I’m sure the Germans could have managed supply lines across the channel, it’s not like the British had any u boats and the navy would have been decimated if not seized in the event of any succession invasion and occupation

And could have bombed the Royal Navy at their leisure. There wasn’t a rush to invade, they could have surrounded us with uboats while they bombed us too kingdom come since we would have no fighters left.

@arandonmusicvenue9431 you’re imagining the best scenario. Straight shorter Dunkirk we kick the Germans butts. Germany was winning every battle they fought at the time and would continue to do so until Stalingrad and Barbarossa. It’s a fanciful pipe dream to think everything would have gone our way exactly as you imagine it. Ludicrous tbh.

@davefloyd9443 yeah, they were french by then. They spoke French and ate snails. They definitely weren’t English, and still aren’t. They should be kicked out, we’ve had 1000 years of tyranny.

@ggarlick46 the difference being the armed forces are mostly in their country and ours aren’t. It’s not what they’d invade with it’s what we haven’t got to defend with. For example , we can only put half a dozen fighters in the air at any one time over the U.K. because most of our working fighters are abroad.

@cirkusarena not in the U.K. it doesn’t, most of them are abroad. There are about 20 maximum in the U.K., only half of which are currently operational, and generally only 6-8 are available to scramble at any time.
