A similar thing happened to left wing Greek and Italian partisans who fought the Germans during the war, when the war was over they were interned and ‘disappeared’ by US and British backed right wing fellow countrymen collaborators

@danthornburg914 Britain was skint after the war, we had rations until 1953 Bruce due to the reparations we had to repay on the lend lease agreement. Meanwhile Germany got the Marshall plan... aha, the fruits of victory bestowed upon the population

A lot of poles living in the U.K. today seem to hate the British now and blame them more than the Germans for what happened to Poland in ww2, rather shameful imo

@khasab6124 not what they tell me, the blame the British for everything but they've forgiven the Germans. The Russians already had Poland, they liberated auswitch and the rest of Poland on the way to Berlin, Churchill wanted to nuke the Russians in Poland but the British people had had enough of war and voted him out, and uncle Joe was a hero at the time

@cleverusername9369 yeah Cornwall is a peninsula in the far south west corner, otherwise known as the West Country, famous for beaches, Cornish pasties and scrumpy (cider). They have their own language and are fiercely independent, there has been a movement campaigning for independence for centuries. Imagine Texas was in California but with copper mines instead of oil and none of the Californian pretentiousness or Texan brashness
