It wasn’t even hard to fathom, it was known fault early on that the virus only survives minutes in direct sunlight which is why it made it completely counter productive to tell people they weren’t allowed out in the countryside or for more than an hour a day. While we weren’t allowed to socialise with family and friends in back gardens and parks, Boris Johnson and his government and no doubt a significant portion of the public just socialised indoors instead. It doesn’t take much of a leap to kick sunlight which gives us vitamin D and the positive affects of vitamin D on the virus. It also helps explain why it hit people of colour more as the darker the skin, the less ability you have to produce your own vitamin D and the more talent in sunlight you are for it, which if you were following the lockdown rules you wouldn’t have got much of
