  1. People keep telling me Ukraine is winning, it doesn't look like it. Perhaps peace would be better than war for Ukraine and it's people because this war doesn't seem to be doing them much good

  4. Reagan and Kennedy hated communists with a passion and yet both of them saw sense in doing deals with them to avoid a hot war and parental nuclear confrontation. Modern American politicians can’t even do deals with Russian capitalist oligarchs, preferring to push them into a hot war for profit, despite the risk of nuclear Armageddon
