@Keon994 maybe that’s just because Canadians are so affable? As a Brit I found Australians really relaxed, compared to the U.K. it hardly ever kicked off and in fact in Australia Poms have got a bad reputation for aggression and violence, particularly in Sydney

What does the combination of quantum computers with neuromorphic analogue chips running AI look like? Are we about to see a quantum leap in science and technology into the realms of science fiction? I have a feeling it’s going to be a bumpy ride and I’m not sure modern politicians or political systems are up to the task, at all, largely because they’re still very much rooted in the past.

Mosquitoes are attracted to heat and carbon dioxide, so smoking and fires attract them

Pikmonster and in every case that one person who stood between nuclear armageddon admitted that they were completely unsure and could've easily give the other way. What happens when the mistake detector makes a mistake? You think, given the human races propensity to make mistakes, that we're just gonna keep being lucky here every time?

The gravity of the situation aha ha ha

Leo Szilard the great Hungarian physicist was the person who was just convinced it was plausible and persuaded the British and then the Americans

That’s the oil industry all over. It’s their culture and they’re far worse today then they were then. You could say about the environment and pollution generally, “you will observe with concern how long a useful truth may be known and exist before it is generally received and practiced on”, and the oil industry are doing everything they can to stop us acting upon it

Why not cars? Looking at those rockets, why not washing machines?

So 5 minutes in I've got a couple of ideas. Put both clocks in the middle of the kilometre, synch them up and then move them in opposite directions at the same speed half a kilometre. Presumably they'll both slow by the same amount and therefore remain in synch? Alternatively have another laser machine rather than a mirror that shoots a laser neck in the opposite direction upon the detection of the first laser?
