Yeah that human chain protest was amazing, like the Orange Revolution only without the USA organising it
8
An alternative analysis is that Putin has been alerted by the regime changes inflicted by the US and NATO on various countries, including Libya and the democratically elected government in Ukraine, and the demise of gadaffi and the Threats to lie to Ukraine’s Democratically elected president made Putin increasingly fearful of his own position and life
2
@softwhiteund3rarm0r let’s just make Nazi slogans an everyday thing. Go watch Woyln
1
@rogerpennel1798 yeah because history is a great predictor of the future. I’ve been driving for 25 years and never had an accident so that means I never will. You’re an absolute genius
1
Vietnam was supported by China, Russia, Cambodia and others, people in the USA never consider that they are the unpopular invading imperialistic bad guys in other people’s eyes
1
Which was exactly the intention of the people who staged the propaganda event
1
@entropy8634 they happened but who committed them is yet to be proved conclusively. Iraq had weapons of mass destruction until they didn’t. And you propaganda doesn’t necessarily have to be lies
1
@entropy8634 what you mean is there are recordings of people speaking Russian in Ukrainian accents that purport to be unencrypted Russian radio interceptions. Yes, I’ve heard them. I also bears the tales of the ghost of Kiev and snake island. Truth is the first casualty of war and propaganda is a key weapon, and in this tiktok social media war it is being used in full effect. The fact that you’re so ready and willing to believe anything put in front of you as the truth, as long as it casts Russia as the bad guys, is proof to the power of propaganda. I bet you’re so indoctrinated with propaganda that you don’t think the USA has a bad record at all when it comes to war crimes do you?
1
@entropy8634 if you knew anything about recent Ukrainian history, in particular the role the man azov and the far right regard as their hero had in ethnic conflict and the Holocaust, and the stated aim of Azov and the right sector to finish what he started and cleanse Ukraine of impure races, you might think differently. But you don’t, and do you won’t, you’ll just believe whatever you’re told by the government’s propaganda machine, the media, and whenever propaganda the Ukrainian gestapo put out
1
@mark3623 show me this “conclusive” evidence. I haven’t seen it
1
@entropy8634 I didn’t say that so quit gaslighting
1
@entropy8634 what about the previous 8 years when Ukrainian forces targeted and killed 14000 Ukrainians that the world doesn’t care about because they’re the wrong kind of Ukrainians? What about the stated aims of Azov to “clean” Ukraine? What about the fact their hero bandera was a Nazi Holocaust perpetrator?
1
Or they could escalate to nukes, which doesn’t really help Ukraine at all or anyone else for that matter
1
@Ninjersey1 14000 Ukrainian civilians died in the Donbas at the hands of Ukrainian military, probably as many or more than Russia has killed since the war started
1
@kevinwarburton2938 they were communists not fascists but yeah otherwise your point stands
1
@robertbricker IMO these regime codes have lead directly to this conflict. Putin sees the USA and NATO as a regime charge machine, and has no desire to end up like Saddam or Gadaffi. Or even like the democratically elected President of Ukraine in 2014. Ukraine is being used by the U.S. and NATO to fight a proxy war with Russia with the end goal being to weaken Russia and Putin and make them vulnerable to a regime change
1
@ubroc who is justifying an invasion? Quit gaslighting. Whatever the reason, the CIA backed an armed coup against a democratically elected government, that has announced fresh elections with the agreement of all parties contended in the Ukraine including the eu, but Victoria Nuland said eff the EU, and wanted to install her item puppet government in Ukraine. You dad dress it up as whatever you want, but there was an illegal armed coup by extremist fanatical far right Nazis against a democratically elected government organised by the CIA
1
@ubroc NATO has perpetrated regime change for the past 30 years. Look at what happened to gadaffi, this after he was promised no interference by the west when giving up his nuclear weapons. Now Libya is a breeding ground for terrorists, just like it, Afghanistan and Syria. What’s the connection between these countries?
1
@ubroc aha yes, the intellectual argument of insults. When someone resorts to personal attacks it’s because they no longer have an argument
1
@alanfriesen9837 NATO currently has at least 440 000 troops on it’s eastern border and more are being sent in. 8 aircraft carrier groups are around Russia, 6 from the US and 1 each from France and the U.K.. God knows how many subs but France has deployed all 3 of its nuclear subs to sea for the first time in its history. It’s the largest build up of nato military force since the invasion of Iraq, and looks to me like an invasion force. You will see increasing calls for military intervention and regime change over the next few months and years
1
@ubroc they didn’t threaten or attack NATO. NATO isn’t a defensive alliance just because it says so anymore than Putin is democratically elected just because he says so
1
@ubroc Putin warned about the consequences of Ukraine pursuing nato membership for ten years. The US deliberately baited into an invasion ,it’s part of the rand corporation strategy document for the pentagon. He’s warned for years about using nukes if countries interfere and threaten Russia, so it won’t be any surprise to me when he does. People like you will say it’s all his fault and there’s burning we could have done but that’s clearly and patently false. Europe has seen more war and more casualties by far than any other continent, we don’t need another one thanks no matter how big the profits for us companies are
1
@ubroc NATO wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria were not defensive, they were offensive wars about regime change, no NATO country was being threatened or invaded. Trying to pretend otherwise is absurd. Clearly Russia and in particular Putin will feel threatened by nato, particularly when he has tried to join it several times and been denies. Gadaffi was promised the west wouldn’t interfere in his country if he gave up nuclear weapons, look what happened to him. I would imagine Putin wishes to avoid the same fate. Understand, I’m not condoning Putin at all. I just understand his motivations. This isn’t Star Wars, it isn’t good vs evil as much as us propaganda lines to promote it as such. The us has perpetrated horrendous war crimes but they will never be brought to account. In fact, they threatened to invade the Netherlands if they or their soldiers were ever prosecuted by the international court of human rights in The Hague
1
@ubroc so when you say there’s an international system of laws, there is but it doesn’t apply to the USA
1
@ubroc That’s reassuring knowing you’re already resigned to nukes flying
1
@ubroc yes, it’s ok for the us to invade and bomb whoever they like but not Russia
1
@ubroc saddam didn’t have WMDs though did he that was a lie. Edict is what all weapons inspectors said all along. North Korea has nukes, i don’t see nato going anywhere near them. China also. You do like to pick and choose don’t you. There US shot down an Iranian passenger jet does that mean the us should be invaded? you believe the us doesn’t have to be held to account to the same standards that you think every one else should
1
@ubroc nope
