  11. Bram Laurens I won't be flying on one and there's a lot of people in Europe who feel the same. When you buy your tickets you check the plane, if there's a chance it's a 737 max you go elsewhere, won't take too long for airlines to work it out and cancel orders

Bobbytrap nah you're wrong, because Boeing sold this as a modification to an existing plane rather then a redesign, they got to certify the planes safely, the FAA didn't touch it or get involved. In reality the new engines, the change in position of them and the fundamental changes that made to the aerodynamics of the plane requiring software just to keep the thing in the air meant that in reality it was a while different plane and they should have gone through the more expensive and time consuming route of getting FAA certification, which would have undoubtedly found these glasses and forced a redesign, something Boeing didn't want because it would have been expensive and forced a long delay and they would've lost orders to Airbus

  27.  @basicinfo1964  and the software is rushed and poorly written, relies on one sensor, overrides the pilot without warning and minimal training is given to the pilots about it. Error after error, all because it was rushed. Testing and training are the first things to get cut to any project that is being rushed because they happen at the end, especially in it. Most of the time it results in shoddy systems and software the don't work properly and people don't know how to use properly, and this is exactly what happened here, only the consequences were fatal

Karlton est don't you think it's a bit worrying that pilots a) have to step in to stop an autopilot ploughing a plane into the ground (this should never happen) and b) haven't received more than 2 hours reading on an iPad on the new system that is flying their plane that they need to learn how to turn off?

This just makes it seem even more likely you're working for Boeing's PR department, because they said they were more informed and that everything was fine with the 737 max after the first two crashes, and yet now they're all grounded. So if we'd done what you said and listened to someone "more informed" we could've gotten on those planes and died. Seemsx like that's a far more dangerous way to live to me, mr "more informed".
