@ericnjoka5362 if you do to Anfield you can't not, half of Scandinavia and Ireland are there, good luck getting a hotel room in Liverpool when they play at home

@danzel1157 don't disagree with you there pal. I didn't say they weren't aware of why. Anyone with half a brain who remembers the 80s knows. That said, Liverpool has always been a law unto itself. Napoli is the same. Hamburg too. The East End of London. A lot of the old industrial Dock cities are like that

No the locals call areas in Liverpool beruit because its so lawless and violent

@danzel1157 don't forget the two cathedrals mate. Lived and worked all over Liverpool mate got family and loads of friends there, used to drink in the dixie down in dingle and in Picton high street, got mates in Bootle, Huyton, Aigburth, Granby. I know more about Liverpool than a lot of scousers and any real scouser will know plenty of them call areas of their city Beirut.

@danzel1157 yeah, to an extent, certainly. Not in the Beirut areas though.

@hughwhite7055 Liverpool's decline started long before airports and cargo planes became common, and i don't know if you're aware but most freight still travels on ships because it's far far cheaper and airports abs airlines simply don't have the capacity of docks and ships. Liverpool's docks and wealth was heavily reliant on trade with America and the Caribbean , specifically slaves and cotton. The demise of the slave trade and the building of the Manchester ship canal meaning ships carrying raw cotton could sail through Liverpool and to Salford docks were far more influential than airports and cargo planes.
