  1. The other way of looking at it is that you can be certain that by using AI you can easily do the job of ten people who don’t use it. And you have had three valuable years of experience of successfully using it and have gained and fine tuned your AI knowledge and understanding. In 5 years you’re either going to be using AI or you’re going to be unemployed. And a lot of people are going to be unemployed. look at the mechanisation of of agriculture and apply that to the modern economy.

  2. Well look at this way, if AI ends up taking over programming jobs, you’ll always be able to fall back on your carpentry skills, because AI won’t be doing that for a while! What will the guys who’ve only ever done programming do? My advice would be to get into coding and software development for AI. Personally I think AI will replace a lot of jobs, because it’s going to make technology and knowledge workers a lot more productive. There will still be those jobs, but less of them, as each worker will be doing the job of 3 or 5 or 10 workers. However, AI is going to be a huge growth area, and there is a skills shortage in AI right now, so that’s the way to go. Just my opinion, but I think you’re in a better position than a lot of people because you already have skills that AI isn’t going to replace. Good luck.

  3.  @isr4r  prompt engineering too. In fact that’s probably going to be the biggest growth area, and the primary skill is good command of language, although programming and an understanding of AI helps. It’ll be the new systems analysis.

  9.  @aiartrelaxation  a life of science, leisure and infinite pleasure, not in the current socio-economic paradigm but I think that’s going to have to change. There’s going to be a lot of political upheaval and that usually means some form of violence, but you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs and sometimes you can’t take power without splitting heads

  12.  @davidbombal  I’ve been using it pretty intensely and reading a lot on forums, I don’t think most people who are using it have any idea of how powerful it can be if you learn how to use it correctly. I’ve discovered this you can do that I haven’t seen anyone mention anywhere else’s yet. It’s a bit like a bicycle, until you know how to pedal and steer and use the brakes it’s not that useful or only useful going downhill but not when you have to stop etc. once you learn to ride and maintain it, it becomes a lot more powerful. The tricks I’ve found are seed prompts, task prompts and iteration. When you design and combine those three together the power becomes exponentially larger. I’m working on some code that takes the human element out of a lot of it, and automates the seed prompts and iteration of the task prompts, if I can get it working it will be like chatGPT to be power of ten effectively.

  15.  @Lwyte17  it’s a language model, it’s not been designed or trained for maths and equations and this AI model is sub optimal for those operations anyway. Try something like wolfram alpha that has been specifically designed and trained for those kinds of operations. Also how you build your seed and task prompts has a huge impact on the quality of output.

  17.  @Lwyte17  if you give it the right seed prompt if can recognise equations well enough, it just doesn’t know when or how to use them, because the randomness and creative parameter settings are telling it to do something different every time

  18. Get into developing AI or applying AI. If you have 30 plus years of accounting and financial management experience there’s no reason at all why you can’t use that and combine it with your new AI knowledge. In fact I would see it as an advantage in terms of AI application. You are probably familiar with financial management software and processes and are aware of the specific pain points and bottlenecks they produce. I am the founder and CEO of an AI startup, looking at some industry disrupting applied AI research. I have a project that we could possibly collaborate on if you are interested, for example using AI to automate invoice data entry and 3 way matching. That’s just one small example.

  20.  @aiartrelaxation  what’s UVI? Faster than people think, it’ll be exponential. Depends to a certain extent how’s its used and regulated but I think it’s inevitable. The U.S. could very well end up putting heavy restrictions on it like they do with semi conductor chips and super conductors. Within 5 years we’ll see significant disruption in the Labour market across the board, within ten years a lot of jobs will have changed irrevocably, largely disappeared or be in the process of disappearing. Within 25 years the it will be what we are today to the world before pcs, the internet and mobile phones only more so. The speed of change is going to be exponential and faster than anything we’re ever seen or experienced, not least because we are all permanently plugged into the internet via phones iPads consoles and laptops from the age of 3 these days, and AI will be on all of them.
