That was hard to swallow

Yes, more meritocracy and democracy, less corruption and nationalism

@ShubhamMishrabro no it’s because India is so corrupt. These days the rich and powerful have telesales scam operations and other far more financially viable corrupt scams than having customs collect arbitrary import taxes. The police in India still collect backsheeshes if you want to get away with minor crimes
8
Art Man they also took the corruption and amplified it tenfold, you’d think a country that professes to hate the British wouldn’t copy them so much
4
@draganmarkovic491 400 000 Serbs were killed in Croatia? Are you sure about this? I know there was ethnic cleansing and genocide on both sides but I never heard of these figures
3
Art Man I think it’s ten times worse now than it was then
2
Art Man yes, that's why they spent half a billion dollars on a statue and are focusing on ethnic cleansing, and have done absolutely nothing at all about the rich elites and their telesales scams.

@joeking9430 you sound like a woke sjw mate did someone offend you?

@HistoryScope I thought you might have mentioned the role the USA played behind the scenes to accelerate the breakup of Yugoslavia and initiate regime change in particular the isolation of Serbia. I even heard that they imported some mujahadeen fanatics from Saudi Arabia to commit herbicide on the Serbs in Bosnia and Croatia to provoke a response. There is talk of a conversation with Clinton about how many should die in the first act and the figure of 5000 was reached. Similar to the coup the CIA organised in Ukraine where they felt it necessary to kill 100 protesters in order to provoke a strong enough response for armed conflict and regime change, the results are similar with ethnic tensions keeping to war with U.S. backed forces against ones aligned with Russia. What happened in Yugoslavia in the 1990s is happening in Ukraine today but on a bigger scale. The only difference is this time it’s the Russians intervening instead of NATO

@draganmarkovic491 aha ok you’re talking about repatriation, I guess that’s what comes of stirring up ethnic tensions and allowing foreign powers to take advantage of the divisions, look at Ukraine. Same thing, another proxy war. Tito didn’t truck any interference from the Soviets or NATO and while he was there everything was fine. Then people got greedy, tried to take more for themselves and ended up getting exploited by foreign interests for less. Yugoslavia is lucky it didn’t turn into another Ukraine because it could have easily. For gods sake don’t start it all over again please. I miss the old Yugoslavian football team, they were brilliant.

@JK-gu3tl oh yeah cos dictatorship really promotes it
1
@JK-gu3tl a corrupt nepotistic totalitarian state masquerading as a democracy with no freedom and little social mobility, where you can be incarcerated for voting the wrong way or protesting for your rights and freedom

@shiveshsingh3169 i disagree. Cubs has far more disadvantages than India yet has far better education and healthcare. Same for Vietnam, Singapore, China, all of which also had a much better response to the pandemic. Blaming your predecessors from over 80 years ago for the failures and corruption of your current politicians is a cop out. They don’t serve India and the common Indian, they only serve themselves, and they hide behind nationalism to gain common support for it. I suppose you blame the British engineers who built the Indian railways for all the accidents and breakdowns as well

@thomasxl3975 wrong

@fordgtguy did they also mention how bad the US republic would be at winning wars against pig farmers and goat herders and providing basic healthcare and clean drinking water to it’s population?
1
@leonardodevinci1251 that’s why the US is so uneducated
1
