  1. Regis Growth just measures the nominal value of consumption. The primary purpose of consumption is to make profits for the owners of capital. It isn't to increase the living standards of the population, and increases in gdp do not equate to increases in living standards. The last ten years can attest to that. If you had goods that didn't have built in obsolescence and lasted ten or twenty years or more, you wouldn't need to spend so much income on replacing them. That means you'd have more money for added value things that actually improve the quality of life and standard of living, and you wouldn't need to work so many hours to earn money to keep replacing all your consumables. So everyone works less and has a better quality of life. The only people who would lose out are the people who own the companies making the consumables, obviously they wouldn't make as much money but they're already filthy rich so who cares

Whilst he is probably right about this method killing covid 19, the side effect of also killing the host has perhaps been somewhat overlooked. Perhaps his rhetoric of America first does not equate to Americans first, or at least not most Americans.

They only had a ten percent drop in gdp, locked down a lot earlier, had a much lower infection and death rate and opened up the economy much quicker. Trump did nothing for 3 months except say it wasn't a problem, it was just like the flu and it winds disappear. Turns out he was wrong

  33.  @therant311  they're on top on term of the fact they've got the highest death rate in Northern Europe. They didn't lock down but most of the population live alone and practice social distancing naturally. Plus they're far more compliant about doing wear their government tells them

  43. This hit hasn’t got a clue. I’ve been getting gpt to write its own prompts since December. It’s not even hard and the results are spectacular. Prompt engineer is already a job that can earn you $300 000 a year plus but it’s a bit more than just writing prompts.
