All
American cars are generally bigger, the engines are bigger, there is often (in cities and large towns) more traffic because people generally drive everywhere, which means more stop start. Plus fuel is a lot cheaper so American car manufacturers have less incentive to make their engines more fuel efficient. Lastly American cars are mainly automatics, which will generally use more fuel than a conservative manual driver. And there’s the difference between American driving style and Europeans driving styles. Generally it’s much harder to pass a test in Europe than in America

@scottthewaterwarrior you sound like someone who can drive. I suggest that most people who drive automatics wouldn’t be able to match your fuel economy, especially in the USA
