  1. Ukraine doesn’t have much history. It only became a nation state for the first time under Lenin. Before that it was owned by Poland, Lithuania, Austro -Hungary and Russia

  2.  @pastelclouds1922  it wasn’t exactly a war of independence as such. It was a bunch of disparate armies and warlords fighting German armies, white and red Russian armies (including troops from the USA and other allied countries) and each other. There had never been a unified Ukraine and there certainly wasn’t a unified Ukrainian army
