@ThinWhite_Duke 1% of unemployment in new Zealand is massively different in numbers and consequences to 1% unemployment in the USA, so your 40 000 figure is just pure bullshit. And remind me which country had the higher unemployment again?

@ThinWhite_Duke who's trying to win? It's the US that's winning, it's got the highest death rate, the most cases, the highest fall in GDP and the highest unemployment. The only thing it's not done so good at recently when the schools were shut was school shootings, but now they're open again it will probably get back to winning there too. @user-ly1vx2do4s right for a start there is no herd immunity, any immunity you may get only lasts for a few months, not everyone gets it and you can still carry and transmit it, and when you get it a second time it can be a lot worse

@user-ly1vx2do4s secondly, I said the 20 minute test was 95% accurate. That means out of 100 000, 5000 results will be potentially inaccurate. This is only really a problem if a person is positive and tests negative. You're not suggesting everyone who comes into new Zealand will be positive are you? Let's say 10 % are, which is huge, it would never be that number, that's 10 000 people . 5% of 10 000 is 500. So you 500 people out of 100 000 coming in that slip through the net. However you could also take everyone's phone number and make it compulsory that they download ac track and trace app so you know where they go and are at all times IB new Zealand. You could also make it compulsory that they have to report to a centre every 3 days and get tested again. It wouldn't be that hard to control it if you had the will

@user-ly1vx2do4s nope. I'm not talking about a vaccine. I'm talking about what you called "herd immunity", relying on a mythical natural immunity that hasn't been proved to exist in anyone as of yet. The best they've found is a probable immunity for a few months, and that isn't in everyone they've tested either

Jacinde Arden and her Labour party are way to the left of boris and the conservatives, if anyone was going to get upset about closing the borders it would be her supporters not people who've voted for Brexit and boris. Nah, the real reason is the reason for everything, money
