  4. It’s worse at air India. Since they were privatised to Tata in 2022, the Engineering department responsible to pass the technical checks have had staff cutbacks and haven’t had their salaries raised once despite rampant inflation, so basically have taken a massive pay cut while taking on a lot more work. Lots of workers in India just go through the motions since they get paid so little they don’t see the point in working very hard. in this case I suspect they were probably just passing the documents instead of thorough checks because they just didn’t have the time or resources to do the work they were told they had to do. This ha very common in India, due to the caste system and a culture of not being able to say no. Also, at that airport Air India had a Turkish contractor to maintain their widebodies which they dropped at the beginning of last month because apparently Turkey had friendly relations with Pakistan and India therefore doesn’t like any Turkish companies. Seems rather childish, especially when it puts your population at risk
