  2. The attempt to justify the genocide of thousands of children and babies shows exactly what kind of person they are. The people who support this genocide are in the minority and on the wrong side of history. When injustice becomes law, rebellion becomes duty. Even silence in the face of injustice is complicity with the oppressor. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere; the ultimate tragedy is not oppression by bad people, but silence by good people. Education is not memorising that hitler killed 6 million Jews. Education is understanding how millions of ordinary Germans were convinced that it was necessary. Education is learning to spot the signs of history repeating itself. One holocaust does not justify another.
