Against Brugge for example he made a lot of runs off the ball dragging players out obviously got the red card dragged players away from Asensio for the goal touched it down for Rogers to make a brilliant pass(Bailey to Asensio is quality aswell) a lot of things he does potentially goes under the radar as it's off the ball but to say he's been average makes me question your ball knowledge.

Messi is special sure but as back up you can't have someone who plays on the opposite side and doesn't want to sit on the sidelines plus the fans wouldn't given the price they spent. Get someone around Saint Maximin or Wilf Zaha's current level not someone who was like Salah is right now for Liverpool. Also they brought him to replace Iniesta not be back up to Messi. Anyways Dembele isn't exactly the best on the pitch anyways so sidelining him wouldn't be that much of a problem. It's more about the ethical side then the club sidelining him anyways it's football you ain't going to want to progress someone who won't be yours it's different in that case as long as they're not a essential player sidelining them is fair. It's not like a employee at some business where they may not directly effect your business (depending on the move) once their leave that much.
