  4.  @keifer7813  No that's not what it's though if it's not required by law or a policy in terms of a private place then you don't have to do anything. Just because you think they should stop that doesn't mean it's the case that they have to. You can hold that opinion if you really want but that doesn't affect the reality of the matter. They do deserve thanks for stopping when they really didn't have to in my eyes.

  7. They're only required to stop if you've step a foot onto the crossing itself not just waiting on the side

  8.  @TheKeirsunishi  I can't as I'm focusing on my Accountancy degree atm but I'm curious why are you so worried about me driving for? I only stated what is the law on the matter you can go on about maybe they should stop because it's best practice or whatever but that's not what the law is so technically they could continue on their merry way if they want to.

People are misunderstanding the law, it's a requirement to stop if they're on the crossing but it isn't a requirement to stop if they're waiting at the crossing which I presume most people do the latter instead of the former however it's advised to slow down when approaching a crossing to make sure you don't break the law but that's just advice not the law as well. So technically they can continue on their merry way without any legal ramifications but typically in most cases they stop in those cases they're going out of there way doing a good deed that isn't required of them by the law that's something that deserves thanks in my book.

  12.  @samlawless62  Well I agree I'm just stating that in most of the cases of people at a crossing there's no laws that they're breaking if they don't stop it's only if you're on the crossing not just waiting at the crossing that they need to stop. In the cases you're on the crossing and they stop they're just doing what they're law bound to do so I wouldn't thank in those cases.
