  1. You have teens turning up because of social media, but nowhere is media blaming social media for not taking those posts down. Police need the power to force large social media platforms to take down posts which incite, encourage or create threat of violence, civil disruption or criminal behaviour. Posts removed rapidly can't spread effectively, so you don't get this scale of disruption. More broadly when police have to turn up to riots on bicycles, you can't blame police for not having control of the situation. Look at them standing there with their bikes in this footage. It's almost as if defunding police departments was a terrible idea. If the city want law enforcement and security, they have to fund, resource, staff and grant powers appropriately to police. That means doubling police budgets on 2019 levels so they can afford cars and you know, enough officers to safely break up something like this.
