  1. I wouldn't call the Pioneer the middle price point. The difference between the Pioneer and the Kenwood are manufacturer and features, that's it. If you had the Kenwood model that competes against the Pioneer, you'd have the same issues as the top tier Kenwood. Similarly, if you had the top tier Pioneer you'd have all the benefits of the lower model Pioneer but with more features.The top tier Pioneer has a camera system, Li-Dar, GPS modules, all kinds of add-ons. Above $300-$400 you're just paying for extra features that's where the money goes but the screen hardware and software remain consistent across the product stack. It's the sub-$300 product lines where the comparisons really matter. The difference between a $50, $150 and $300 head unit has a way more impressive gradient.
