  1. They're not denying anything. A referendum was held, the Scots voted to remain in the union. End of story. Sturgeon just wants independence so she can have some actual power. You could hold another referendum tomorrow but if it came back no again Sturgeon would just demand another, and another and another until it came back yes. Referendums aren't cheap, and they get in the way of actually governing. At a certain point you have to take the result and leave it there. Maybe they'll get another go next generation or something if they want.
