  1. Economic collapse does not qualify someone for asylum. Lebanon doesn't qualify, all of the people in this video are economic migrants. Safe ways to apply for both asylum and economic migration already exist in Lebanon. There is a British Embassy in Beirut. There is a Greek and Italian embassy in Beirut too. The reason none of these people are applying through the embassy's is because they have no basis for refugee status and they lack any of the criteria necessary to grant legal economic migration, such as skills. They're unskilled economic migrants, so they try to enter illegally, undetected. That is a threat to all of our economies lest we end up like Lebanon.

  2. I'd like to point out that your economy collapsing is not grounds for asylum. Only war and some specific types of persecution. You're all here debating routes for illegal economic migration. This is why deportation to Rwanda is so important for the UK to institute.
