Why is CH4 always so preoccupied with Yankville politics when it has to do with Trump or something going wrong for republicans? You know you're a British public broadcaster, right?

@tyrionlannister6459 No. It's a UK public broadcaster news channel and this is not at all newsworthy to the UK. You also seem to have missed one of the points being made. Isn't it funny that things going wrong for democrats never seem to be newsworthy on CH4. Funnier still how many things happening in Europe, directly relevant to the UK that likewise never seem to be newsworthy for CH4.

@scotttyson607 Apparently so. Let's hope you grasp it at some point.

That's not how that works

@billbobaggins1693 Every speaker of the house in the history of congress has been an elected representatives in the house. That is how it works. Technicalities in the constitution are utterly irrelevant, because you need a house majority to elect a speaker, and the overwhelming majority of the house respect status quo and tradition. Edit: It's also worth noting that just because you read something in the media or on social media somewhere, doesn't mean it works out that way. The constitution not explicitly saying something does not mean it is not implied. An attempt to vote in a speaker whom is unelected would undoubtedly be challenged in the courts and it is exceptionally likely given the wording of the section they would find it is implied and the speaker must be elected. Here's a challenge for you, without looking it up what is the section number and text related to election of the speaker.

@django3422 In the form of the noun referring to a place, it means the place to assemble or gather. Shame you couldn't work that out on your own. No surprises though django

@django3422 oh django. Smh

@billbobaggins1693 Try reading my words more carefully first. I didn't say that isn't at all possible. I said that isn't how that works. Very different statements. So, nice strawman but come back when you have something to say to what I've actually said.

Congress means to assemble, or gather.

@django3422 I'm not the one obsessed with a stranger on the internet, and using sock puppet accounts. A comment or two more and you'll disappear again for another few weeks before you rinse and repeat. How pathetic you are.

@billbobaggins1693 I enjoy that you just didn't even bother to address my challenge to you. But did talk about the edit text with a weird and unimpressivd call to authority, followed by some non-sequiturs. I also found amusing the very disconnected argument about the speaker being ousted. Speakers are elected by the majority, that is usually a single party. He was ousted because he agreed to a clause as party of his election, and because members of his own party sided with the opposition. But those same members of the opposition have no more interest in voting in trump, or any other unelected person as speaker than the majority of republicans. It's just 8 morons trying to be disruptive.

@matthewv4170 and? lol. He was voted out because of democrats and 8 republicans. Not his party in general. He set himself up for this in order to have the job at all. Yes, this is the first time it's happened. So what? There's no further conclusions to be drawn. Context matters
