  1. Don't block anyone. Civil disobedience and disruption are NOT protest. People seem to have a toddler tantrum mentality, that if they feel a certain way or want a certain thing to happen so they protest that they must be listened to. But nothing could be further from the truth. The right to protest grants you the right to stand around with like minded people and yell at the sky. Sometimes other people will agree and change might happen, even if it's not the change you wanted. Sometimes literally nothing will change. That's what protest is. People these days want to pretend they're actually special and actually powerful when they are not. That isn't how democracy works.

  4. Hooley dooley so much stupid in one thread, climate news never fails to being out the uninformed. Literally nothing @TheKnexMaker wrote is true. Not a single word of it. @Martin Slucutt has things backwards. The price of fossil fuels is artificially increased through tariffs and levys to make "renewables" more price competitive. Without those carbon excises "renewables" would be far more expensive. @Sharp Objects is stuck in a 2009 doco from yankville and has no actual clue. @enda henehan thinks it's a partisan conspiracy. 😂 The OP from @Nev fails to really grasp what's going on either, and tries to see a complex evolving situation through an existing system instead of the coming changes. ​@Nls Drf does not understand that there simply is no such thing as clean energy. That doesn't exist. Not one of you appear to understand the actual science, or the driving forces, or the complexity of the situation. Not one of you seem to understand that lowering emissions isn't the end nor was it ever. Ironically none of you even seem to understand the absurdity of having this conversation on this platform which is responsible for more cO2 emissions in 20 minutes than London traffic is in a day.

  5. The usual motley crew of fools and jesters freaking out about things they don't understand. Civil disobedience and disruption are NOT protest. Protesting does not mean anyone has to listen to you or act on your demands. You have the right to scream at the sky in a group, not a right to get your own way like a toddler throwing a tantrum. If XR really believe in democracy and the will of the people, they should respect that the UK greens get nowhere in politics because no one is down with what they want to do. That makes XR the extreme minority and thus not the will of the people.
