You're mistaken. Both sides of politics are slashing the budget. Labor have been clear they would slash even more aggressively. There is no other choice. The UK has a ~£500Bn deficit in it's budget. That means EVERY YEAR the UK gets half a trillion pounds more in debt. It's been going on since Blair. Debt, as in the UK government have no choice but to borrow half a trillion pounds every year just to pay for basic services The UK is bankrupt and can no longer afford to provide the social services that it does. Labor want to slash the NHS services down to only core services, they call it "reform". The treasury department are very clear that income taxes are at historically low levels and need to be increased. They want 34% base rate to match the UKs European contemporaries. Whoever wins after the election, it doesn't matter which party, will give them that tax rise. It's essential to avoid economic collapse.
