@ne-ht4zx Yikes. Instead of half reading tabloid headlines, try actually understanding what the committee of privileges does, and what powers they have. They can recommend a sanction, but they can not impose one. You need a 2/3 majority of parliament to agree to sanction for any sanction to be applied. For a report that hasn't even been released yet, Johnson was currently facing zero consequence other than being found by a committee to have done a thing and the subsequent loss to reputation which comes with such a finding. Unless his own party decided to impose a sanction of some description on him, and critically they wouldn't be limited in any way by the committees recommendation, then he faced no consequences whatsoever. He just didn't like the findings and threw the baby out with the bathwater in a temper tantrum. That's it.
