  4. Linux will never become a mainstream personal desktop so long as it remains free, open source software. Certainly not while so many distros are doing insane ideological purge campaigns of anyone not far left enough. In fact I'd argue that Linux is shedding losers, sorry I meant users. Linux will only gain meaningful market share when it is driven by closed source proprietary profit. I use redhat, almalinux and debian daily to manage servers. II'd never use a linux distro as they currently stand as a daily driver desktop. I just upgraded to Windows 11 a few weeks ago. It's more appealing by far to upgrade to Win11, hack its UI and block out its back to base stuff, than it is to use a Linux desktop. I use Android linux on my phone, with Samsung's flavour. That's a for profit version of Linux. It's usable. A for profit Linux desktop would be incentivised to make something equally on par with Windows and MacOS. As it currently stands though, no distro is there for desktop.

Mozilla have turned into an ad company like Google and their new privacy policy says they will collect EVERYTHING you do on firefox, every click, every scroll, every keystroke, and they'll share that information with their ad partners which include the Mozilla foundation.

  6. Bro, I can smell you from here. Take a shower. No one cares about linux gamers. They aren't treating steam deck as a console, they're treating steam deck users as the only linux users who matter. Which is accurate. SteamOS is a proprietary OS.
