Of course there is. All intellectual children go through a phase, often in their rebelious teenage years, where they briefly entertain the ideas of communism and socialism. Of the most fervent capitalist intellectuals almost all flirted with communism and socialism in their youth. Thomas Sowell, a darling of the conservative internet, was himself communist in a time when it mattered. He talks quite openly about it. However what changes for most, is we grow up. For some however, they do not. These are the base of socialism, Lenin's so called "useful idiots".
