  1. 😂😂 You have to prepay for 1000km at a time in order to drive at all, they have expiry dates and you must buy a new RUC before your existing one either runs out of k's or expires whichever comes first. It's a physical sticker that has to be displaced on your windscreen so you can't just pay online on the day and be good to go. It's going to take real fore planning and management of the distance you're driving. This is going to be a disaster. The smarter way to do this would be submitting OD reads as part of rego and calculating the RUC at the time of rego renewal. But nup, NZ went with prepayed stickers 😂😂 "Sorry boss, I can't get to work this week I forgot to renew my RUC" 😂😂
