I lost 70% of my money and assets, including my house, in my UK divorce despite my ex-wife earning more and us only having 1 kid (female judge). Now I'm only allowed to see my son every other weekend. Marriage has been the most financially and emotionally reckless thing I've ever done. Fortunately its going extinct in most of the West.

@ASMR-Brooke Marriage is worse the useless. Marriage is actively harmful and detrimental to both parties. It completely financially ruins the husband in the event of divorce and women seem to hate marriage too, as evidenced by higher marital dissatisfaction levels reported by women, higher rates of women initiating divorce, higher rates of lesbian divorce (even wives can't keep other wives happy), lower rates of women remarrying, and the lifespan of wives tends to be shorter than unmarried women. Its completely unrealistic to expect two people to marry at 30 and stay together for the next 50 years.

@Minty_Aqua I would agree with you for American marriages as the USA has laws which protects prenups. However the UK does not have any laws that protect prenups and consequently Judges regularly throw out prenups, especially when there has been a change of circumstance such as the birth of a child.
