During my marriage, my wife would treat her friends better than she would treat me. This type of disrespect is the beginning of the end of any relationship/marriage. Once she starts placing her friends/bosses above her husband this is inevitably going to cause resentment with the husband as he is paying all the bills, looking after the kids, doing the shopping/housework, etc not the friends/bosses. The problem with long term relationships/marriages is the man can't fall off. If he does fall off, then there will be lots of moaning, complaining and disrespect.

@TempleoftheDarkPartsoftheMind I think Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates both got divorced at the 25 year mark and lost billions. In the UK the fastest growing divorce age group is the 60+ years old (i.e. the silver separators). From the outside looking in (I was only married less than 10 years) it seems like there is always a headache in marriage and that you are never really safe from the clutches of divorce. In some cases, I think the longer the marriage, the more you grow apart and the more you get sick of each other. Trying to do a 50 year marriage in today's society which is essentially a godless and shameless society is so hard. Thank you for sharing your story. Hopefully someone younger reads this and thinks again.

markpark4028 I read a comment somewhere and it said "never under estimate the ability of a wife to rationalize her bad behaviour in such a way that she sees herself as the blameless victim". This is a comment that really struck a chord with me after being involved in a messy divorce that was full of lies from her side and that ended up costing me 70% of all my money, assets and home equity. I would argue that "her god" is money. Wives want to maximize the financial settlement on divorce even if they have to throw their honour and integrity to one side. Their ability to wage mental warfare for the purposes of money is second to none.
