  1. This is counter intuitive but it does work in practice. I remember when I left my wife, she actually started to communicate with me and allow me to see my child, rather than giving me the silent treatment and hiding my child away at relatives' homes. As a man in 2023, pretty much the only power you have is to know when to walk away before tempers flare. Assuming you have actually been adding value while in the relationship, your absence should be missed pretty quickly. And if you are so hated and your absence is not missed, it was definitely the right decision to walk away.
