  4. Well, for exactly the same reason why India has a population of 1.5 billion, China has a population of 1.4 billion, and countries like Indonesia, Pakistan and Nigeria will probably get to 1 - 2 billion in total over the next 75 years. Humans seem to have a strong desire to mate and reproduce.
