  1. This is ridiculous. Fighter planes NEVER had a problem landing in the Pacific. Landing on an aircraft carrier?? Yep, lots of problems. But, no problems landing in the Pacific. It is too big, you can't miss it.

  3. I see Guadalcanal as A turning point, not THE turning point. The Battle of Midway takes that honor, IMO. But, it was the turning point for the land battle, since it was the first land battle defeat of Japan, I believe.
