  1. Lei, I don't disagree with any of the factors you mentioned. My issue is in possible outcomes. Historically, disaffection with a ruler results in the replacement of the ruler, NOT the replacement of the system. Emperors & Kings are replaced with another Emperor or King. A President is replaced with a president. You don't usually see one form of government replaced with another. So, Xi will likely be replaced by another from the CCP. The CCP will likely stay. WW1 saw the amazing replacement of new systems of government in Russia, Germany, and Turkey. Will China need a war or other major shock to the system to force the CCP out of power, and replaced by a new form of government? I think the CCP will be able to limp along for a long time before it gets so bad, they are forced out.
